The CARE Certified label informs consumers that the food products they are purchasing were raised sustainably with a focus on CARE for their animals, CARE toward the environment and CARE within the communities in which they live.
It highlights a commitment to sustainable food production.
CARE DEVELOPMENT
The CARE Certified Standards were written and developed by an internal team.
CARE Certified Standards are reviewed annually by an Expert Committee as well as a Producer Advisory Board.
Farmers and ranchers submit the necessary documentation and records required to prove compliance to the standard, which is reviewed by a WFCF Verification Specialist.
CARE Certified farms and ranches undergo an annual onsite audit by an independent auditor.
A Verification Specialist reviews the auditor’s report from the annual
onsite inspection and determines if they are CARE Certified.
